Heritage Open Days is an annual national festival which runs between the 12th and the 21st of September. The Norfolk events feature in a booklet distributed across east Anglia and there is a focus on Broadland this year. 25,000 copies of this brochure are distributed. The theme this year is architecture.
This year the Heritage Centre is organising 8 events for the festival. Two of these will run throughout the festival and will be trails around the town. One of these will involve the local shops and businesses.
We are inviting you to be part of this event by displaying an archive photograph in your shop/business window for the duration of the festival. Your shop/business will be added to a map which people will be able to follow to find all the archive photographs which will give them a good idea of what the town was once like.
The photos will be available in 4 sizes 8x10, A4, A3 and A2
The photos will be available to purchase too so you can keep them for displaying in your shop after the festival is over.
10 x 8 = 4.50 A4 = £6.00 A3 = £10 A2= £15
If you don’t wish to purchase, I will collect the photographs from you after the event is over.
Archive photos are available to view on the town archive website or in the Heritage Centre Aylsham Town Archive – Preserving the history of a Norfolk market town
Copies of these are also available to purchase from the centre.
